What Counts as a Dental Emergency?
Not every dental issue needs to be seen immediately, but some situations genuinely can't wait. Severe pain, a knocked-out or broken tooth, uncontrolled bleeding, or facial swelling are all reasons to call right away rather than waiting for a regular appointment.

Common Emergencies
Not sure if what you're dealing with counts as urgent? Here are a few of the most common situations we see, and what to do in the moment.
knocked-out tooth
Handle it gently by the crown, not the root. If it's dirty, rinse it briefly with water, then try to reinsert it or keep it in milk until you can get to us. Time matters here more than almost anything else.
severe tooth pain
Pain that's sudden, intense, or won't let up, especially with swelling or sensitivity to temperature, is often a sign of infection that needs attention quickly.
broken or chipped tooth
A minor chip can often wait for a regular appointment, but a large break, or one causing pain, should be seen right away to prevent further damage.
lost filling or crown
Not usually a true emergency, but the exposed tooth underneath can be sensitive or vulnerable, so it's worth being seen sooner rather than later.
